I deeply appreciate your presence in my little shop. Thank you for visiting :) My name is Anca, and I suppose I should refer to myself as the artist (though I have many roles). I am indeed the creator of the items I sell in my shop, and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to share my creations with you.
What I Make
I am a tactile learner and creator. I need to experience something firsthand in order to learn the process. My mind wanders often, and I get lost in ideas. I fall in love with processes and fixate quite heavily on one process at a time. I've been making jewelry since high school--I am now nearing my 30s and jewelry-making is still a passion of mine. Along the way I've picked up a few other mediums in which I am constantly striving to improve my skills. I sew, I wood-burn, I've been photographing since high-school, I am hoping one day to learn stained-glass making (when I have adequate space to dedicate only to a studio). I only ever sell creations which I myself love and would use or wear.
Inspirations
The inspirations for my creations come mainly from feelings, images, and sounds within nature. The light of the moon lining the snow-laden land with ethereal blue wisps. The haunting sound of a loon, on an otherwise silent misty lake. The comfort of the sun's warm embrace on a crisp autumn morning, the colours of the leaves burning like wildfire. The refreshing breeze brushing the skin in a field of wildflowers, and carrying on it the scents of the flowers. Beams of light pouring through the spaces between the branches of a densely forested land. The soft touch and earthy scent of dewy moss amidst a green wonderland. These are moments in which my mind dwells. These are thoughts to which my mind wander when I need to escape life. And these are the moments from which the ideas of my creations are born.

Why "Vulpes Vulpes"?
The red fox is [as the younguns say] my "spirit animal". It is the will and spirit of the fox that I strive for. They are strong-willed, wild, free-spirited, stubborn, playful, beautiful, difficult, and social creatures. They are survivors, and they are great at navigation. Many of these traits I do not possess myself--I try and remain hidden in the shadows, my will breaks easily, and I am not quite social... but I'm good at navigation and boy am I ever stubborn! It is the spirit of the fox that I infuse into my creations.
Family
I am an Aries, I share my home with two very funny cats and a lovely human, and I revere nature and all that is within it--which is why I live a cruelty-free plant-based life. I was born in Craiova, Romania and immigrated to Canada when I was 6 years of age with my parents and older brother. I greatly value the presence of my family in my life--they've been a constant source of love and support and I am immensely fortunate to be part of that unit. They instilled an interest in and appreciation for nature within me at an early age; I followed in my father's photographic footsteps, and fell in love with whimsy just as my mother did. My love for music came from my brother and father who are both musicians. I am ceaselessly amazed at my parents' journey--we came from humble beginnings and my parents worked hard to build a comfortable life first for my brother and I, and now for themselves. They are my inspiration to strive for a life full of passions and serenity, full of adventures and joy.
